CSV to Tally XML File Converter

First thing you have to do is download following file which is a format for entering journal entries to be converted to xml.

Download Tally Entry Format Excel File.

  1. First Column: Date in YYYYMMDD Format. Example: 20230124. While entering date enter using example format 25-Aug-2025. If you directly enter like 20250825, it will convert to ##### symbols. Make sure date is within current financial year and is not a illegal date like 30th February 2025.
  2. By : Enter debit account name exactly as present in Tally to avoid import error.
  3. Debit Amount : Do not give comma in numbers to avoid import error.
  4. Cost Center : Enter exactly as per in Tally to avoid import error.
  5. To : Enter Credit account exactly as per Tally to avoid import error.
  6. Credit Amount: Do not give comma in numbers to avoid import error.
  7. Narration

Finally copy paste data cells in Import Data Text Field. Do not choose headings.

Enter Company name exactly as per Tally Entries e.g. FEELCOM AMS (2023-24)

Enter Tally Entry Person Name e.g. Jitendra

Copy Paste only data cells from excel file. Do not copy column headings.
